BIoGRAPHY

Kevin Oliver, Jr. is a saxophonist from Atlanta, GA currently based in New York City. He has had opportunities to perform all over the world including during the inaugural year of NYO Jazz where he performed at Carnegie Hall and across Europe with Dianne Reeves and Sean Jones. He was a Youngarts Finalist in 2019. Since then, he has graduated from The Juilliard School where he gained insight from saxophonists Bruce Williams, Ron Blake and artistic director Wynton Marsalis. He also completed a YoungArts Mentorship with Vijay Iyer. As a sideman, Kevin has performed with Jon Batiste, Babyface, Endea Owens, Roy Hargrove Big Band and at clubs and venues such as Dizzy's Club, Brooklyn Steel, DC Jazz Festival and Newport Jazz Festival. As a bandleader, Kevin regularly performs at the historic Minton’s Playhouse in Harlem and has performed at jazz clubs across the US namely the St. James Live, The Velvet Note, Close Up NYC, and Goodtimes Jazz Bar. Kevin is a proud Boston Sax Shop artist.

Kevin Oliver, Jr.'s musical journey extends to his forthcoming debut album, slated for release in 2025, titled "OLIVER." Through 'OLIVER,' Kevin Oliver, Jr. extends an intimate invitation, offering audiences a musical first date—an artistic self-portrait that welcomes you into his world. The recently released single "Little Happy Song," a playfully joyful tribute to a supportive listener, is currently available across streaming platforms, with physical copies available. Rooted in honesty and heartfelt expression, Kevin's artistic vision seeks to cultivate a sense of love and community through music.
